TicketmasterBon Entendeur virtuously brings together sounds, voices, and eras. On each of their albums, the two friends imagine a music set written like a stroll. In their early days, Bon Entendeur made a name for themselves through mixtapes featuring personalities‘ speeches. Their first album, Aller-Retour, released in 2019, originally aimed to honor the Francophone wave of the seventies with contemporary sounds. Four years later, the record is certified platinum, and its flagship title, „Le temps est bon” is certified diamond single. Their second album, Minuit sees the light in 2021 and is gold certified in a few months. It follows the allegory of the turning hour and this furious desire to stay up until the end of the night.
Spring 2024. Bon Entendeur navigates along Latin shores and brings us a breath of fresh air. Their third album, Rivages distills summer in winter and brings a wind of novelties. The sun is still high and the afternoon declines. Friends on the deck of a boat embrace the horizon, feet in the sand, skin golden with salt. Rivages tells the story of a journey by the sea, from the French Riviera to Bossa Nova. In this album, Bon Entendeur bring together their most cherished memories and celebrate the Mediterranean coast, the cradle of their friendship. Rivages draws from the scents of garrigue and maquis the long light of the sun and mixes in its titles, fragrances of pines and immortelles. The soundtrack climbs gently in decibels, to the rhythm of a haunting guitar instrumental. „Sicilia“ is listened to as an insular introduction. The journey promises to be festive and the set is matured by the sun.
Bon Entendeur composes an album, more than ever, faithful to what they love: the dance of the night, the energy of their native Mediterranean sun and the plurality of world music. Rivages is a continuation of their aesthetic, vintage, disco, and electronic signature. Bon Entendeur navigates between these old songs passed through the prism of their DNA and the original compositions that make up the greater part of their album. Carried by a long tour, Arnaud and Pierre have created Rivages in osmosis with their mixed set on stage, their feet dancing in the sand and travelling minds. The duo boldly affirms their desire to make music in their own distinctive style. An album wanted more personal than they are eager to take on tour, in a star-studded stopover, the Olympia, on April 4 and 5, 2024.
