Rune Reilly Kölsch, known to the world simply as Kölsch, stands among electronic music’s most compelling and innovative voices. Born and raised in Copenhagen’s legendary Christiania commune, Kölsch’s coveted approach is deeply rooted in a spirit of creative freedom and emotional authenticity. Through these qualities and a career of dedication to his craft, he’s been propelled to many of the world’s most iconic stages, including Berghain, Coachella, Tomorrowland, fabric London, and a breathtaking Cercle set atop the Eiffel Tower, as well as shows in Ibiza at Hï, Ushuaïa, and the newly launched UNVRS.
Since emerging in the 2010s with impactful tracks like ‚Loreley‘, ‚All That Matters‘, and ‚Grey’ (which sits at 57M streams on Spotify alone), Kölsch has continually reshaped melodic techno with a profoundly human touch. Landmark albums such as 1977, 1983, 1989, and the more recent, deeply introspective I Talk To Water have solidified a legacy that doesn’t only light up dancefloors, but more importantly, resonates deeply with listeners around the globe. Over the years he has collaborated and worked with a range of renowned artists, including Coldplay, Imogen Heap, London Grammar, and Damon Albarn, as well as ARTBAT, Anyma, WhoMadeWho and Kevin de Vries, ultimately highlighting a confident producer who’s more than capable of wearing a range of creative hats.
In 2025, Kölsch enters a transformative new chapter with the Kölsch and the Machine live tour and its accompanying album, KINEMA. Premiering at Amsterdam Dance Event, this daring new show sees Kölsch stepping from behind the decks to invite fans directly into his creative core, delivering a mix of reconstructed catalog classics and fresh originals from the album through an immersive, analog-driven live performance. KINEMA, meaning „movement“ in Greek, symbolizes his artistic evolution over the years, merging nostalgia with innovation in a captivating dance between humanity and technology.
