Clara Kimera is an artist whose universe is as intriguing as it is enchanting. If her angelic face looks familiar, it’s because Clara first made a name for herself as part of the electro-pop duo Agar Agar, which she co-founded with Amande while they were studying at the École nationale supérieure d’arts de Cergy. After releasing their second album Player Non Player last year, Clara felt the need to reinvent herself and assert her solo identity. Under the evocative name Clara Kimera, a nod to the manga Hunter x Hunter and the concept of the chimera, she begins this new creative arc.
Her musical aesthetic, both DIY and cinematic, draws from a wide range of influences, from shoegaze to underground rap. Clara transcends genre boundaries, constantly seeking out new ways to express herself, where every sound feels like a distant echo from a bygone era when guitars sighed.
In September 2024, Clara Kimera released her first solo single, King Jester, followed by Slenderman and Strangers on Screen, before unveiling her debut EP Dial 8 on January 31, 2025. This cathartic and spellbinding project offers a sensorial dive into Clara Kimera’s esoteric world. Blending organic tones with glitchy textures, Clara crafts a hybrid musical universe paired with striking imagery.
She’s back with her new single “god complex”, out on march 4th.
