Cage The Elephant have never felt comfortable in traditional comfort zones. Instead, they’ve instinctively and uncompromisingly chased inspiration without second guessing it. As a result, every record has represented a creative rebirth for the multi-GRAMMY® Award-winning band—Matt Shultz [vocals], Brad Shultz [guitar], Nick Bockrath [guitar], Matthan Minster [guitar, keys, backing vocals], Daniel Tichenor [bass], and Jared Champion [drums]. The same goes for the group’s shows in arenas and stadiums everywhere. No stage has been quite big enough to contain their unmatched energy, undeniable swagger, and unspoken refusal to stand still. With a catalog of enduring hits, reputation for unforgettable performances, and legions of fans worldwide, they have unassumingly led alternative music and culture for two decades now.

In 2026, the band are reborn again with their first new music in two years and upcoming full-length debut LP under new label Big Loud Rock.

“It’s definitely a new chapter,” Matt shares. “We always try to write from life experience. Whatever we’re going through will undoubtedly make its way into the music. Even when going through difficult seasons, life can still prove to have no shortage of light memories. I’ve learned we don’t realize the things that we’re capable of making it through until we actually face them. Having fond memories during difficult times, is a blessing to say the least—which some of these songs do for certain. Navigating troubled waters many times reminds us how extraordinary life truly is. Life’s beautiful. It takes peaks and valleys to illustrate that beauty.”

“Musically, we always want to reinvent Cage The Elephant,” Brad says. “We’ve discovered a whole new side to our band, how we look at things, and how we make art. You’re growing constantly as an artist, and I think we’ve tapped into that growth. I do feel like we’re making the best music we’ve ever made. If anything, it’s definitely the most inspired.”

From day one, Cage The Elephant have gleefully defied any kind of categorization. Back in 2006, they busted out of Bowling Green, KY with an inimitable signature style, implanting glimmering and gauzy melodies between bursts of gritty garage rock, grimy noise, and gutter punk. It’s music that daydreamers, night owls, outsiders, over-sharers, and free spirits of all kinds could appreciate. Fueled by this sound, their rise was earmarked by 10 billion streams and counting, dozens of Gold, Platinum, and Multi-Platinum certifications, and thirteen #1 records on Alternative Radio and 5 #1 records on Triple A Radio. They were nominated for their first GRAMMY® Award with Melophobia [2013] and later won Best Rock Album for back-to-back releases Tell Me I’m Pretty [2015] and Social Cues [2019], followed by another nomination in the Alternative category for Neon Pill [2024]. Meanwhile, Rolling Stone championed 2024’s Neon Pill in a “Hear This!” 4-star review, and CBS Mornings chronicled its story. Indicative of the band’s everlasting appeal, Gen-Z fostered the massive virality of “Cigarette Daydreams” (over 1.5 billion-plus Spotify streams), while Gen-X marveled at Cage The Elephant’s triumphant run as special guests on the biggest reunion of the last decade—the Oasis Live ’25 Tour. Following one particular gig, EMMY® Award-winning Bob Odenkirk summed it up best, “But Cage The Elephant, holy shit, that was a revelation.”
