The SALVATION Tour

Pop-distrupting Mexican-American singer, songwriter, DJ, and cult-followed queer icon Rebecca Black (@msrebeccablack) steps into a new era on her new project “SALVATION,” // listen here // accompanied by an official video for the title-track also out today // watch here //. The 7-track project presents hedonistic, confident bangers that cascade through electronic sounds; drifting from synth-driven confessionals and also pulling back into four-on-the-floor mayhem. The bold, playful yet personal lyrics offer a twist on the pop-dance genre and will be sure to cause outbreaks on dancefloors.

In her own words: „The timing of the conception of this project couldn’t have been more aligned with what I needed to discover in my life right now. My SALVATION was learning that everything I’d been searching for in other things, people and worlds was always inside myself – and that ignoring that was only denying myself the right to learn the power of your own intuition. I’ve struggled greatly throughout my time in this industry to learn to really grab ahold of an internal compass, regardless of what anyone else might feel or think, and this was my time to finally grab it and run. It’s a project for those ready to take that same leap of leadership for themselves in the most fun and brash and loud way possible.“

Rebecca explores electronic sub-cultures and genres. On “Sugar Water Cyanide,” she worships her vices over a bubbly garage instrumental that quickly morphs into thumping hard techno, a sound that returns later on the industrial ballad “Do You Even Think About Me?” On “Twist the Knife,” she ambivalently stands up to suffering. And of course, the euphoric dance-floor club banger which kicked off the campaign, „TRUST!”

Yet – the heart of the album lives in the title-track, “Salvation.” Over a swung techno instrumental and a groovy acid bass line, Rebecca Black casts aside the need for others affirmation in favor of her own belief. “Salvation” is a monument to the 2000s pop traditions that she emerged from and a testament to her ability to face the future; combining the blissful shine of recession-era pop, the grime of hard-hitting techno music, and the self-assured hedonism of brat aesthetics into one magnificent anthem.

“SALVATION” offers a new bible of club classics for the future; an unrestrained exercise in unabashed self confidence. Although difficult emotional questions come and go throughout the album, Black’s answer remains consistent: dance the pain away. As she so beautifully puts it on the final track, “For my final sacrifice – leave my lovers paralyzed – bloody, beauty paradise – dancing ‘till I die.”

With Rebecca Black’s debut studio album in 2023, “Let Her Burn,” and her debut EP “Rebecca Black Was Here,” Rebecca Black showcased a holistic understanding of camp aesthetics and dance music culture. Now, she is ready to return with a realized opus; a whimsical, luxurious trip through the club haze full of unforgettably catchy melodies.

Rebecca Black will bring SALVATION on tour across North America, the UK and Europe – kicking off with a sold-out show on March 4th in Seattle and wrapping back in the US on April 5th in St. Paul, Minneapolis. The announcement followed her recent internet-erupting live appearances at Portola Music Festival in San Francisco and a debut Boiler Room DJ set showcasing her spellbinding energy and hypnotic stage presence // watch here //. Rebecca will also support Trixie Mattel on select dates of the “Solid Pink Disco” tour – see full tour routing below.

Rebecca Black has embarked on sold-out headline tours in North America and Europe in 2022 and 2023, followed by a packed-tent “Rebecca Black & Friends” DJ set at Coachella’s DoLab and appearances at Pride festivals in Los Angeles, Chicago, and several other cities. Rebecca’s live sets bridge the underground and the mainstream, proving Rebecca Black as one of the most adaptable and exciting pop artists of our time.
